Alloplastic TMJ total joint replacement surgery is now an accepted and well researched area of special interest within the specialty of oral & maxillofacial surgery and allows the successful treatment of a variety of challenging clinical situations.

The author has been in specialist practise in NSW for over 30 years and involved in various types of TMJ TJR surgery for much of that time. TMJ Concepts custom devices have been a routine part of treatment planning since 2006.

A variety of interesting cases will be presented from the author's practice to illustrate the scope of work applicable to the use of these devices. Details of the planning involved will be presented as will a number of complications.
